The Protection Solutions team is growing, and we can’t be more excited to introduce you to our latest addition, Sophie Moffat. Sophie joined us in mid-August, which means she only had about two weeks of training before the nationwide lockdown! We are impressed with her ability to adapt to her new role despite current circumstances.
About the role
Sophie is our Office Administrator helping Debbie and Anne assist our advisers and maintain their connection with clients. But the role has a wider remit and will encompass some aspects of the company’s marketing and retention strategies driven by Jessica and Penny. We asked Sophie what drew her to apply for the position: “I was excited as this role enables me to grow within the insurance industry and learn how to build those relationships with clients”. Sophie has extensive experience in client service delivery. Customer service is a key part of Sophie’s responsibilities – so make sure you say hi next time you hear a new voice picking up our phone! Sophie is bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas about processes to her role, but more importantly, she’s bringing humour and a love of quality chocolates! (Although the morning tea baking test is yet to happen- blame Covid for that one!!)
We asked Sophie what she is enjoying most about working at Protection Solutions so far. “Everyone has been really lovely and helpful. I am excited to be working with such a positive team. All the training is enabling me to grow my knowledge to enable me to assist both our clients and my team to a higher level”.
Sophie is a redhead that grew up in sunny Nelson. “I am very familiar with that lovely smell of sunblock. I preferred winter growing up because of the crisp days outside kicking a ball around or watching from the side of the pitch. My winter evenings consisting of card games with family, kept warm by my parent’s fireplace. I recently became an aunt, with another nephew due in a couple of weeks”. Sophie moved to Wellington to start a previous job in the insurance industry based on legal compliance and pricing assessment for claims.
Sophie used to work at a pizza chain, so she can make pizzas and cut them (accurately) at a fast pace. She has also worked retail in the fishing industry, where she honed her client relationship skills. In that role, she learned about different fish species and knows how to skin and fillet fish! “Am I successful at this? Let’s say I’d trust me around pizzas more”.
Expect to hear from Sophie on the phone with updates on your policy, information regarding claims and much more! The protection Solutions team is excited to have Sophie join us, and we are looking forward to seeing her apply her skills to take our customer service to the next level.
